Landscaping is the art of merging nature in to your surroundings in a picturesque manner. In addition to being a sight for sore eyes, a landscaped garden will also benefit the dweller by increasing the re-sale property value of the land. Having an attractive landscape is not only benefactions for the owner but also enhances the look and feel of the entire neighborhood around the vicinity of the landscaped area. Therefore having a residential landscape is truly a form of pleasing ones site and relaxing the soul.
Step two, would be to conduct a site analysis before the landscaping begins. The soil that is available, shady and sunny areas and wind direction are all crucial elements that must be meticulously monitored to get the best out of the landscaping procedure. Next in line would be to assess the family's requirements. Space for recreation, space for the car, walk ways, maintenance level and clothesline spaces etc; are important to be aware of before landscaping can be done. By doing this one can assure that there is sufficient space for each activity to take please with out any problems. The proper utilization of space is important so that maximum potential can be reaped from residential landscaping.
Step five, would be to develop the areas that are used. The front yard where most of your guest's and passersby would notice, should be developed in a way that would make it look good and easily accessible. The proper plants must be used so that they won't cause any irritation to those who come into contact with them. The right type of grasses and trees are essential. Ornamental trees are a great enhancement for your garden as it will look great and take up less space. Overgrowths can be avoided through the proper selection of plants. The drainage system must be well planned so that during the rainy season there won't be any flooding. The family areas must be well planned so that if there are children present there won't be any plants that can be hazardous. The proper placement of playground equipment, tennis courts and swimming pools must be spatially organized. The utility areas such as garages and garden sheds must be placed carefully so that they don't jut out into the garden and break the harmony.
And finally the next step would be to construct and plant. Consider your families view on the landscape procedure and go with the themes that they require and prefer. Group planning is a great way to achieve a more natural look as it will look more appealing in an urban area. Providing privacy is also important when landscaping. Hedges are a great natural screen to have privacy in your garden. A fence can be a more convenient method as it requires less maintenance. The proper use of shade-giving trees and wind-breakers are essential as well.
Old railroad ties are a great way to add character to your garden as it gives a more rustic look. Bricks and wood also goes hand in hand and has a softer look in comparison with concrete. The use of fruits and vegetables in your garden can make it more interesting and satisfying as it will promote greener habits and thereby promote healthier lifestyles for you and your family. Once all this is done, the final plan is approved so work can begin straight away.
